today was a pretty productive day! i was out the door on the bike at 8:00 to put in a solid warm up and a few sprint sets before the 9 am pedal power ride. once i met up with the group ride we put in a brisk 2.5 hours and then i rode back home from the shop. 44 solid miles on bike all before noon, i was psyched! after a hot shower and some stretching we headed over to the east haddam house. we chowed some grinders for lunch and t painted in her studio for a bit while i mowed the lawn. once the tasks at the house were complete we headed over to gillette castle to snap some photos...not realizing how mobbed the place would be on a sunny saturday. that was short lived, a few photos and out! we then made our way to devil's hopyard to snap some more photos of chapman falls and check out the scenery. all in all it was a day spent traveling here and there, whether on bike or in the car. good times for sure. thanks to t for driving us to all the fun places this afternoon. now back to my couch for the rest of the evening :) busy day tomorrow...breakfast with the folks, bmx, and packing for vegas.
update: monday the 22ndyesterday was another fun day, just how i like to spend my weekends! t and i headed over to my folks for breakfast. the parentals wanted to see me and wish me well before i leave to vegas later today. after breakfast i finished packing for vegas and then we headed down to sleeping giant state park to get in a solid hike. t and i hiked to the lookout atop mt. carmel and stop at various other spots along the way up and back. great time, great hike, and some great photos to prove it!
