: nostalgia gone

so back in the late 90's i was big into the "rap core" and new metal scene. i used to attend shows at the webster and toads pretty regularly and i was fortunate enough to know people that worked at both venues...often times resulting in me getting free band merch, autographs, meet & greets, etc. i was totally shocked this weekend when i heard that dj am had died of an apparent drug overdose. i met and hung out with the band crazytown back in 2000 at the webster, and dj am was part of the band at the time. i had an 8" vinyl album cover (pictured below) autographed by the whole band in that rad silver sharpie. who the hell knows where that album cover is today, maybe at my folks place somewhere, but chances are it is gone. hold onto your past, you never know what it's going to be worth in the future. sure, it's sad that a life was lost and i know the world shouldn't revolve around money, but honestly...damn, i bet i could have sold that lp cover for some solid cash on ebay!
